Day 12: flexible, hiking around Ein Hod, swimming in the sea

This day flexibility was asked. Today I meant to hike from Kibbuz Yagur to Ein Hod and cross the Karmel mountains. But my friend Arik and Fabrice were stuck in a traffic jam and so we could't start on time to do the whole hike. We decided to enjoy this day and our time together anyway. So we hiked around Ein Hod, an artist's village with nice trails and a wonderful view across the Mediterranean. Arik is my old friend that I have known since 2005 and we keep a close friendship. He introduced me to Fabrice, a very nice and relaxed guy who came to Israel five years ago from France. Fabrice plans to go to Barcelona soon and wants to come back to Israel regularly. Arik had brought nice hiking food, especially hummus, chick peas together with pita in order to produce enough protein for fitness on Shvil. Since we had sunny weather we decided to go to the beach of Nascholim. We sat in the sand, had some tea, Arik went jogging and I dared to go into the sea. It was refreshing and not too crazy. I think the sea at many European beaches (as in England for example)  doesn't get this water temperature even in summer. Afterwards we had hummus again in an Arab restaurant. The two brought me back to Ein Hod to a speacial place where I stayed overnight. In 2012 a young Israeli, Yotam Melamed, got seriously injured and later died after an accident with his skateboard. The parents donated his organs to five people who urgently needed them. Afterwards a meeting place for young people and volunteers was founded in remembrance of Yotam. I stayed there overnight and at 10 pm a concert started there. I Had also very nice conversations there, for example with Guy (from Tel Aviv) and Avigail (from Kibbuz on the Golan). They both are 18 and are volunteering for one year before going to the Army. Mostly they Take Care for Kids and give Thema Tours in the Nature. I really encouraged them and told them that they with their Engagement are following the example of their parents and grandparents.
