Training hike the 1000 heights meter trail

Today I was using my time off and did a training hike. Close to my home town Nuremberg there is a round trail which is called 1000 heights meter trail. www.1000hmr.de (only in German unfortunately)
I did the southern part of it which leads you up and down for approximately 620 metres.
This is a great practice for the Shvil. I had loaded my backpack with some extra weight.
Today's exercise was also to test my walking sticks. I have to say they really helped.
Nice views, an old chapel and the highlight - an old Celtic settlement in the forest on a rock - amazing!

Mannis Christmas greetings

Hello friends,
I wish you Merry Christmas.
This year I am most inspired by this Song of Lauren Daigle.

Christmas 2018: Hiking in my neighbourhood

I bought my trekking shoes some months ago. Now my body needs to get in shape. Regularly I go for walks in my neighbourhood in the Reichswald close to my home town Nuremberg in Bavaria.

Christmas 2018: General information

Welcome to my blog on my hike on the Israel National Trail or in Hebrew Shvil Israel.
I decided to take two month off in March and April 2019 in order to do the Shvil Israel.
Background information on the Shvil:
https://www.israeltrail.net/ or https://www.israel-trail.com/
I am 47 years old, married since 1997 and have 4 kids. I am working in an Automation company.
I am a friend of Israel. My objectives for the Shvil are the following:
  • a Sabbatical, some reserved time for me
  • coming out of the work system, doing something completely opposite
  • getting to know the country and the people of Israel better
  • experiencing Israel in spring - up to now I was mostly in summer
  • visiting a lot of friends on my way - and getting to know new friends
Regards
Manni
