Day16: Barak and Vardit Canyon, adventurous hiking and swimming

We were really looking forward to this day. Hiking the Barak and the Vardit Canyon, we had heard such great stories about it, that we wanted to do it finally, after the storm had stopped us.
Also the sun was back, bright sky, sunny weather - just jofi.
We left Paran through the agricultural fields and crossed the Wadi which was a wild and strong two days ago.
On the way to Nahal Barak we met a group of four young Israelis - 2 men and 2 women who also were heading to the Canyons.
We walked together and had nice conversations.
Later we met a couple a young Jew Roj who got to know his girl friend Sara from the Netherlands two month ago on the Philippines.
Before we entered the Canyon we had a break and I could testify my love towards Israel and how I delt as a German with the past in the third Reich.
Then we entered the Barak Canyon, as a team of eleven, we went through togehter and helped each other, which worked great and was fun.
When you hike the Barak or Vardit Canyon in the spring you have to swim through water pools, transfer your backpack in a way that it doesn´t get wet. Additionally you need to climb metall ladders. It was an adventure which we all enjoyed a lot.
Those two Canyons are just amazing, so steep and so narrow - wow! A really great day!
In total we had to hike 31km, fortunately we were light weight, since we could leave our big backpacks with Rotem our host. Another highlight was that my son Johannes joined us the Shvil team, so now we are six hikers again. It was great to meet him after three weeks.
In the evening we went further south by bus and skipped two Shvil hikes, since those ones are boring hikes.
Unfortunately the second bus we needed to take didn't stop for us, so we cooked our dinner at the bus station and shortened our waiting time.
Tired but happy we set up our tents in the middle of the night and went to bed.
