Day 11: A great day on the way to Mizpe Ramon

It was a very cold, windy night with a lot of dew. But I have optimzed the setting up of my tent and sleeping equipment, so I was fine and I tink the cold nights should be gone, when we leave Mizpe Ramon and go further South.
As always in the morning during breakfast we prayed and laid everything in Gods hands.
The duty of today was to hike 28km. Before we really got started we had to cach our Water Haim had provided for us, which is fun.

The natural highlight of the day was Nahal Hava a Canyon which we had to climb through. Especially the exit was strenuous but worth it. We had to really climb and go through a very narrow part with like rock pillars on each side. We even saw Ibexes fighting on the Edge of the Cliff and heard the loud noices when their horns cracked.

We met a lot of other hikers today and enjoyed the conversations with them, I shortly introduce some of them:
Cornelius and Susara a senior couple from South Africa hiking the Shvil after they did a long distance hike in New Zealand
Sergey and his wife from Russia who were so excited about the Shvil and the friendliness of the Israelis. Their whole equipment didn't look to professional but they seem to do very well.
We also met a bigger group of Israeli hikers, who were accompanied by Laura from Germany and a hiker from Poland. We came into the topic that there is a program HIT(Hosting Israeli Travellers). One of the Israelis said, that he used it in New Zealand and that Christians are offering this service and hospitality only to Jews, I told them that me and my wife are part of HITand that we are also hosting Israelis free of charge. They were so amazed and asked me what our motivations are to do it - so I explained. Dan one of the guys on the picture left to me promised to visit us soon - welcome!

When we came closer to Mizpe Ramon and during our lunch break Benny and Ruben our new members of the Shvil team 2020 joined us and we had a heartly welcome especially after all the excitement we had because of Corona and it was not sure until last minute if they could come into Israel.
We still had some kilometers to hike to reach Mizpe Ramon but finally we reached our target in the dark. We will stay two nights in Mizpe to regenerate and have a day off tomorrow.
We went to a nice restaurant were I had Hummus, grilled Egg plant and bear - the best food a Shvilist could imagine. Leila tov.
