Day 7: Cold night, climbing the wall, ready for Karbolet

Unfortunately we had a very cold and windy night. It was really tough, I slept less and was more in the mode to "heat" my body. Of course such a night is a long one, but finally the night was over. After a hot tea and the sunrise energy and motivation was back.

Today we read Psalm (Tehilim) 91, this word was especially of high importance and source of confidence for Bernhard when he was suffering from Cancer. When we come to God and stay with him, he is promising us a lot of blessings. Especially thrilling for me is that God in the end of this Psalm makes an active speech and states: "I will rescue him, I will honor him, I will let him see my salvation".

The first kilometers of the hike were very nice. It was easy going paths and they offered us a wide views like valleys in the east and west, Dimona the nuclear city of Israel, the Canyon Yemin we would hike later. A real highlight for me was that we could already see the Mount Karbolet the target of tomorrows hike, which is the most demanding but also most attractive day on the Shvil.

It seems that this winter brought even more rain than last year in the dessert, so there was green and blossom.
We met some other Shvilists, like Michael a Jew born in Israel who lives now in California or big groups a girl school classes.

The Nahal Yemin was amazing and quite strenous. We had to exit the Nahal via ladders, one of it was 10m high. We passed the highest dry waterfall in Israel.
We passed Yerokam which is pools of water in the spring, we saw a lot of young people there, but we passed.

At the end of the day we skipped the hiking of another mountain. We didn't want to go to the limits, because we need all our power for tomorrow.
We reached at Oron factory at around 5 p.m., we could set up our tents in the sun and washed ourselves in the water bassins. After our dinner (mushroom soup with hummus) we went to bed early.
