19.4. Pessach

Originally our friends had invited us to celebrate Pessach with them. Sadly, they had to go into hospital today and we hope and pray that everything will be alright.

Spontaneously we went to the Pessach Seder Dinner at the Beit Asaph congregation in Netanya  http://beit-asaph.org.il/ , a congregation very similar to ours where we feel at home and where Manni took part in the Purim celebration a few weeks ago.
The evening was very special. We followed a Messianic Passover Haggadah in Hebrew (with translations into English and Russian) that included drinking four cups of wine, eating matza and symbolic foods placed on the seder plate. In between there were prayers, songs and scriptures from Exodus, Psalms and the New Testament about Yeshuah being our Passover lamb. One piece of matze was hidden and the children had to look for it. Jakob took part and was excited to find the Afikoman. In the end the children got little presents.
The seder hagaddah was followed by a big meal with lots of food that everybody had brought. Manni had invited the girls from Chemnitz who he met on the Shvil, so we sat together with Sabine and Hanna and their friend exchanging Shvil experiences.
For us this evening was the perfect combination of Pessach and Easter and we had always wanted to take part in it. To get an impression of what we did: there is a quite similar hagadda:

Netanya - before the meeting started we went for a short walk along the beach

There are good people in Netanya caring for the street cats.
